Coal Washing Plant
Parnaby Cyclones provide a wide range of both mobile and modular coal washing plant and coal preparation equipment.
Parnaby Cyclones is a long established family business. The company was founded back in 1973 by Derek Parnaby who developed the world famous ‘Parnaby Process’ for minerals separation using barrels and cyclones.
Over the intervening years the company has developed a wide range of both mobile and modular coal washing plant for the preparation and separation of different grades of coal, the recovery of fine coal particles and the treatment and disposal of effluent.
Today Parnaby Cyclones design, manufacture and install systems all over the world.
Coal washing and separation improves its saleability. The end product has:
- Higher calorific value
- Lower ash content
- Potentially lower Sulphur content
There are two main systems for the processing of coal. The first uses natural medium (water and natural fines in the raw feed) and secondly a dense medium (with magnetite added).
